This year, Andover Orthodontics is joining the seasonal fun once again by participating in the 2024 Scarecrow Festival. Creative scarecrows ranging from cute to scary will be displayed all over downtown Andover, MA, with proceeds going to support the Andover Coalition for Education.
Festival Details
Nonprofit organizations, community groups, and businesses like Andover Orthodontics exercise their creativity by putting up a festive scarecrow each October. This year's theme is Things That Make You Smile. Visitors will enjoy seeing all the variations on the theme and strolling the streets of Andover to view the scarecrows.
On Saturday, October 19, the Coalition will host a kickoff event in front of Old Town Hall to welcome the scarecrows to Andover. Locals and visitors are encouraged to take a self-paced scavenger hunt to look for all the scarecrows in the festival.
How to Participate
The Andover Coalition for Education invites local organizations to donate a set amount to join the festival. Participants receive a wooden frame to make the scarecrow and display it along the streets of Andover. Part of the entry fee supports the Andover Public Schools.

Frequently Asked Questions About Orthodontics
When should you start orthodontic treatment?
Orthodontists recommend that they see every child around age seven when the permanent teeth are beginning to erupt. Early intervention in complex cases can make the process quicker and more effective.
In most cases, orthodontists recommend that children start treatment between ages 11 and 14. However, orthodontic treatment is also for older teens and adults: it's never too late to start.
What are the signs that braces might be needed?
Gaps between teeth, crowding, bite issues, visibly crooked teeth, and mouth breathing are signs that your child may need braces. An orthodontist can evaluate your child and let you know what type of treatment they recommend. For teens and adults, Invisalign is also an excellent option.
